Sixpence Weddings and Events is a wedding-based blog focused on compiling creative ideas, supplying helpful wedding advice, and today’s trends. We are seeking a rockstar intern who is passionate about connecting with engaged couples through blogging and social media.
Sixpence’s Blogging & Social Media Virtual Internship will focus on increasing traffic and brand awareness for all engaged couples and readers.
Within this internship, intern will be required to:
- Write one to two blog posts per week following brand guidelines for editor review via google drive, which will be shared on our growing Facebook, Instagram, and blog (Blog topics will be supplied via email)
- Post corresponding material to our Pinterest and Instagram with appropriate hashtags to increase viewership and brand recognition
- Check in bi-weekly via phone or FaceTime
- Track growth via Google Analytics
- Identify, understand, and utilize blogging and social media strategies effectively
Internship positions are available year-round. Internship hours are flexible as entire internship will be conducted virtually. Internships are unpaid but are available for credit from East Carolina University.
Requirements:
Junior or Senior Communication/Journalism/PR Major
Must have an interest or experience in the wedding industry
A minimum GPA of 3.2 in Communication courses
Knowledge of basic Word Processing, Windows/iOS, Canva, Photoshop, Google Drive
Familiarity with all social media outlets, SEO, and hashtag usage
Ability to work independently
Detail oriented, creative, and highly organized
