2018 Holiday Challenge Intern
The Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less and Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes team is
looking for an intern to assist with the 2018 Holiday Challenge. The intern must be an
exceptional writer, detail‐oriented, and organized. He or she will be expected to work in the
Raleigh office alongside current team members. The intern may be full‐time or part‐time.
The Holiday Challenge is a free 7‐week program to help adults across the United States
maintain their weight throughout the holiday season. In 2017, all 50 states and 13 additional
countries were represented in the Holiday Challenge with over 30,000 participants. The
program is based online and delivered through email. The intern will assist with material
development for the 2018 Holiday Challenge, which includes newsletters, daily tips, weekly
challenges, and blogs. In addition, the intern will assist with planning and marketing the Holiday
Challenge to more than 160 business clients. Marketing efforts include social media campaigns,
blog creation, worksite guides and resources, website updates, and email marketing. He or she
will also participate in program evaluation, data collection, and report generation. If interning
during the Fall semester, the intern will have the opportunity to organize and lead the annual
Holiday Challenge Taste Test event for employees at the NC Division of Public Health.
Projects include:
Planning and implementing the 2018 Holiday Challenge.
Developing material for the Holiday Challenge (newsletters, daily tips, weekly
challenges, social media posts, articles, etc.).
Marketing the Holiday Challenge via social media, blogs, worksite resources,
presentations, webinars, emails, and more.
Assist with Holiday Challenge evaluation, data collection, and report generation.
Organizing and leading the annual Holiday Challenge Taste Test event at the NC Division
of Public Health.

Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less and Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes are
partnership programs between NC State University and the NC Division of Public Health. Eat
Smart, Move More, Weigh Less is an evidence‐based online weight management program held
in real‐time by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes is a
CDC recognized online diabetes prevention program held in real‐time over the course of 12
months. Interns will have a unique opportunity to work alongside team members and receive
hands on experience with wellness programs delivered in an online format to adults nationwide.
