NCEast Alliance (NCEA) – Marketing & Communications Internship
The Organization – The NCEast Alliance is the lead economic development organization serving 28 counties eastern North Carolina from the Research Triangle to the coast collaborates with statewide and local economic development organizations and various allies to assist existing industries, actively market the region and recruit new businesses, and build regional economic capacity through advocacy and workforce development/STEM education initiatives.
The Opportunity – this not-for-profit organization is seeking a part-time ECU intern for 10-20 hours (variable) per week to perform various functions in conjunction with NCEA staff. The intern will be expected to:
- Develop (research and write) news articles
- Design event and other marketing pieces (using a Mac) for distribution (primarily electronic) using Constant Contact
- Assist NCEast staff with the organization of events/meetings (and may be called upon to attend these events when possible)
- Other activities that may be assigned
The ideal candidate is someone that:
- Is familiar with an Apple Mac
- Can write well and either knows, or can quickly learn, how to use Constant Contact to disseminate press releases and notices about upcoming meetings
- Has some familiarity with designing material using Mac software
- Knows how to add content to a website (i.e. post news releases)
- Can work in a small team environment, identify and voice new opportunities, and willingly accept feedback
- Is available immediately and can work 10-20 hours a week (flexible)
This is a paid internship and we typically pay $10 per hour.
