Greenville Pitt Access Television (GPAT23) is offering an unpaid internship with the role of assistant producer for a series of public access TV interview programs about non-profit organizations in Pitt County. “The Pitt Resource Connection” is a series of 10-20 minute studio interviews, hosted by Mary Smith, with guests who represent local social service and human service groups and organizations. Intern will coordinate with guests about content of interview and additional methods to tell their story (photos, graphics, video.) Intern will assist in program recording in the GPAT studio by creating and coordinating production schedules, creating titles and graphics, preparing the set, directing 3-camera studio interview, and performing necessary post production to prepare program for cablecast on GPAT23, Suddenlink Cablevision in Pitt County on Channel 23, and for internet viewing on Youtube.
This internship will require some writing and social media production. Video production experience not necessary, but desire to quickly learn basic video and digital procedures and techniques a plus. This internship will require a significant amount of individual work, under the direction and supervision of the executive producer. Work schedule is generally flexible, except during studio productions. Student will be exposed to working with Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and NewTec TriCaster. Intern may also assist in the preparation, production and post production of a weekly calendar program of non-profit events.
This internship has been created for two reasons. First, it will improve the quality of programs cablecast by GPAT23. Second, it will provide a diverse learning experience for communication students, specifically those desiring to work with non-profits and human-service organizations.
