The Eastern Area Health Education Center is affiliated with ECU and part of the statewide AHEC program providing continuing education and professional development to health care professionals. Our new conference center and offices are across from the northwest corner of the health sciences campus and the dental school. An AV intern is needed to help support our growing conferences and online offerings.

Routine work

  • Prepare conference center AV systems to meet needs of presenters and assist presenters with AV
  • Arrange rooms and Skyfold walls for events
  • Manage cameras and AV for live webinars and recordings

Additional work and projects as workflow and time allows

  • Work with faculty on presentation slides and audience response slides and building online content
  • Editing of video of recorded presentations and operate a Mediasite recorder
  • Assist with offsite conference AV support

We are looking for someone who is

  • Customer service oriented with strong communication skills
  • Reliable and on time for events
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and graceful under the pressures of live events
  • Comfortable with AV technology
  • Computer literate with strong knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Knowledgeable about copyright, privacy, good slide design and photo research

Internship features

  • Paid with variable hours per week, with a maximum of 20 hours per week
  • Early and late hours for some events
  • Pleasant modern workplace
