  • Participation in a mentorship with a member of Senior Leadership.
  • Occasion to share with the organization any final projects or presentations.
  • Opportunity to participate in an exit interview to share experiences, feedback and input.
  • Guaranteed interview when applying for employment with UNC-TV after the competition of the internship.
  • Academic credit at the discretion of their institution

CRITERIA FOR APPLYING:

  • Attend an accredited college or university
    AND
  • Be at least a full-time undergraduate student (12 semester hours);
    OR
  • Be a graduate student (9 semester hours)

UNC-TV is looking for self-motivated Engineering & Production intern to join a fast-paced and dynamic Television production environment. This intern will work closely with the Studio and Field production crews, assisting with various engineering and production tasks.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assist the Engineering and Production crew with studio and field productions. Opportunities include:
  • Shade Cameras
  • Camera Operation
  • Operate the Character Generator
  • Install and/or remove IT and broadcast equipment including playout servers, network switches and Satellite Receivers
  • Assist with set-up and breakdown of productions
  • Operation of the Video Router
  • Set-up encoders for live streaming
  • Operate the Video Switcher
  • Operate Audio Mixers
  • Record, log, archive and edit content within a MAM environment
  • Other duties as assigned

This intern will earn an hourly rate of $15 for up to 40 hours per week over a 10-week period.
