East Carolina Aquatics marketing intern – starting Sept. 1, 2020
East Carolina Aquatics is a not-for-profit, year-round swim team operating in four counties in eastern North Carolina. We are looking for a part-time marketing intern with a keen interest and preferably experience in communication marketing, social media and digital content production.

 

The intern will work remotely under the direction of ECA General Manager Scott Pake and Head Coach Casey Charles. Based around class schedule, a work schedule of up to 20 hours a week will be developed. This should be the student’s primary job outside of classes. Some assignments will require work at night or weekends.

 

Duties include creation and distribution of content for ECA’s website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts; taking photographs or video of swim meets, swim practices, testimonials, etc., for content; increasing website traffic (SEO); monitoring, evaluating and improving social media communication; and building awareness about ECA and swimming as a sport.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with the social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and Snapchat.

 

Other opportunities include: attending ECA board meetings; developing communication strategy for internal and external campaigns; creating brochures or handouts; brainstorming and implementing original content ideas; other duties as assigned.

 

Required qualifications:
Ability to interview, photograph, video swimmers, staff, parents and alumni

Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

Confidentiality, professionalism, trustworthiness, fair judgment and impartiality are musts

Ability to get along well with people

Ability to work independently

Basic knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel) and social media platforms

 

Pay is $8 an hour, up to 20 hours per week, with flexible work schedule (around class schedule) starting Sept. 1, 2020, through fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters depending on work ethic and job performance, ending April 30, 2021.
