Description
The Oakwood School Eagle Booster Club is looking for an intern to help facilitate various activities and events held throughout the school year (2021-2022) including developing a social media presence. The Eagle Booster Club promotes athletics at The Oakwood School by uniting students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff and the community in a way that enhances the sharing of school spirit and provides moral as well as financial support. The intern should be prepared to participate and engage in all activities in furtherance of this mission while working directly with the president of the Eagle Booster Club. It is essential that the applicants to this position have strong communication skills, demonstrate creativity, be able to work independently and be a proactive member of our team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of coordinating special fundraising and spirit events such as the Cancer Benefit, Eagle Classic, Monk Madness, Spring Fling, Homecoming/Spirit Week, and the Athletic Banquet
- Assist with the preparation of event manuals for all Eagle Club events
- Develop an Eagle Club online social media presence using Facebook, Instagram and more in order to enhance school spirit
- Monitor and post on the social media throughout the year with game scores, events and other updates
- Assist with internal school communication and event promotion
- Create a photography/slide show for special events by attending games and taking photographs of players
Requirements
- Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing major
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of social media
- Energetic and creative
- Driven and hard-working
- Ability to take direction and multi-task
- Knowledge of sports and high school athletics a plus
