About Us
East Carolina University’s Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology provides treatment and research opportunities for rare cancers and blood diseases including sickle cell, cancer, and hemophilia. We also treat all hematologic disorders including disorders of the immune system. We are committed to our patients, both inside and outside of the clinic. We provide lectures to primary care provider groups and host annual sickle cell and hemophilia conferences. We also provide community outreach and patient support through our Rainbow Services program. This program aims to help pediatric patients with cancer, sickle cell disease, hemophilia and other chronic blood disorders and their families achieve a brighter outlook.

We are looking for an intern for the summer of 2023 to assist with photography, videography, creative design, event planning, and the development of marketing materials.
Flexible remote and in-person schedules will be considered.
Learning opportunities include but are not limited to:
- Photography at patient engagement events
- Videography at patient engagement events
- Graphic design and promotional material development
- Development of divisions monthly newsletter
- Follow division’s current communication plan while learning patient & community engagement trends to build future content
- If time allows, social media content creation and management
Experience/Qualifications
- Sophomore-Senior in School of Communication
- Willingness to adapt and learn
- Skilled communicator
- Graphic design experience
- Solid proficiency with MS Office software
