Internship with ECU’s Exercise Physiology Degree
The Exercise Physiology degree program at ECU is seeking a communication and social media intern. The intern will assist with coordinating and executing the communication and social media strategy for the Exercise Physiology Degree. This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for students, future students, faculty, staff, and alumni across Pirate Nation.
Start Date: Summer 2024, Fall 2024
Work Schedule: The intern will commit to working 10 hours per week in a hybrid work schedule created around the students’ schedules (partly in person in the FITT building/ Minges/Ward/ECHI and partly remote)
Communication and Creative Content Responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for managing and executing the HPL social media pages (Facebook, Instagram) by creating daily posts, photos, videos, etc. to highlight the Research, events, faculty, staff, and experiential learning happening within the Exercise Physiology degree and HPL.
- Interview and compose stories about students, faculty, and staff and topics ranging from
- Create a bimonthly newsletter for Exercise Physiology students to highlight internship opportunities, careers, applicable ECU events, resources, faculty, research opportunities within the department, etc.
- Creation of marketing material for potential Exercise Physiology students
Preferred Majors, Experience/GPA:
The candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be familiar with key social media platforms. Candidate will have to be outgoing and have a strong work ethic, work independently, meet deadlines, and have the ability to accept and learn from feedback and revision of content. Confidentiality, professionalism, and trustworthiness are musts! Candidates will have experience in writing, communication marketing, social media, and digital content production. The candidate will be proficient in taking and editing photographs and videos for social media and newsletters.
Knowledge of or interest in Health/Wellness/Fitness preferred. Must be a student currently enrolled at ECU, possess and maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA, and be in good disciplinary and academic standing with ECU.
