The Northern Texas PGA is seeking qualified students to participate in a 13-week media internship program during the Summer of 2021. Two participants will be hired to work as media interns. The interns will assist the Northern Texas PGA Section and Foundation’s communications and media relation activities. This position will take place from May 25 to August 17, 2021. Experience or knowledge of golf is not a requirement to be eligible for the position but is a bonus.
Requirements Include:
- Has or is pursuing college degree (third or fourth-year students preferred)
- Has automobile access with willingness and ability to travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
- Has existing insurance (through school or parents)
- Exhibits ability to work and communicate (written and verbally) effectively in a team-based environment
- General computer literacy (Microsoft Office, smartphone apps)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or After Effects)
- Experience with DSLR cameras and video cameras
- Ability to edit video using software, such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere
- Ability to use Apple computers and operating system
Successful applicants will be primarily responsible for assisting with the Section, Foundation, and Junior Tour’s communication and media relation activities including, but not limited to:
- Manage and promote the NTPGA, NTPGA Foundation and NTPGA Junior Tour via social media outlets including Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Twitter, and Vimeo
- Assist with marketing, advertising, and campaign strategies to promote the NTPGA, NTPGA Foundation and NTPGA Junior Tour
- Compile information to create effective email promotions using Constant Contact
- Videography and photography at events to create highlight-videos and other media promotions
- Communicate with and interview juniors, parents, and PGA Professionals
- Assist with the management of the NTPGA websites -ntpga.com, foundation.ntpga.com and ntpgajuniorgolf.com
- Compose media releases
- Provide on-site tournament support as needed
Interns are compensated at a rate of $7.50 per hour (before taxes). Interns are compensated at a rate of $11.25 per hour if/when they work more than 40 hours per week (before taxes). NTPGA Uniforms will be provided, School credit if applicable.

This position is located in the Dallas, Texas area, hired applicants will need to relocate to Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for the summer months if they do not already reside in the Metroplex. Housing will not be provided.
