ECU RISE29 Fall 2021 Internship

The Rural Innovations Strengthening Eastern 29 (RISE29) program is funded by the Golden LEAF Foundation and is a micro-enterprise program at ECU. The mission of RISE29 is to create or sustain jobs in rural communities across eastern North Carolina. RISE29 connects small business ideas with regional community need.
For this internship, student teams will use data to develop and launch micro-enterprises, strengthen existing businesses, and/or commercialize new technology that enhances North Carolina’s eastern 29 counties. Phase I of RISE29 is focused in a four-county region including Beaufort, Hyde, Martin, and Pitt counties.
RISE29 internship participants will take part in weekly meetings focused on professional development, business development and other topics along with the RISE29 internship experience. Each student selected for the program receives a stipend of $3,000 based on a 20-hour work week.
