Communications Assistant
The Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) is seeking a Communications Assistant. The Communications Assistant will support CEFS’ day-to-day communications work, including supporting the management of the CEFS website, social media accounts, and contributing to our newsletters.
This is a 20-40 hours/week position (full-time preferred). This position will provide an opportunity to gain real experience as part of a communications team tasked with supporting CEFS’ many local food system and field research initiatives. Roles and responsibilities include:
Social Media
· Develop posts for CEFS accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
· Work with CEFS Communications Team to strategize new ways to share CEFS’ mission with a broader audience and grow our social media following
· Collect and analyze data related to social media marketing campaigns
Website
· Update website content using WordPress, including the events calendar, publications, blog, and other resources
Graphic Design
· Develop social media graphics and promotional materials using CEFS Communications templates to communicate information about CEFS field research, food systems, and other initiatives
Videography and Photography
· Support CEFS Communications Team and CEFS initiatives with videography and photography needs, including some travel
Other
· Help to track communications data, including website usage and social media engagement
· Support with event promotion, development of monthly internal and external e-newsletters, media outreach, and sharing job postings
· Provide administrative support to CEFS Communications as needed
