Public Information Student Intern

Description

Under close supervision of staff, the intern will perform various duties including, but not limited to: developing news releases, newsletter articles, print ads, and other promotional materials; assisting with community events and career fairs; and assisting with other duties as required.  The Public Information Office is responsible for a variety of external and internal communications including advertising, social media, bill stuffers, newsletters, trade show displays, brochures, media relations, photography, videos, etc.

Qualifications

Candidates must currently be pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or related field, and possess strong writing/editing skills, along with experience using Microsoft Office software. The ability to provide graphic design, photography, and/or video support on various projects and experience using Adobe Creative Suite software is a plus.

Candidates should have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Additionally, applicants must submit work samples and a current academic transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable) outlining coursework and GPA. The position is for Monday through Friday, 10-15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling available. Pay rate is $10.00 – $12.00 per hour. Candidate must have transportation.
