We have an amazing opportunity for an eager individual to assist the Bold Hat Productions team in promoting the Hop Scotch, Fremont Fair, Kirkland Uncorked and Fremont Oktoberfest. If you are passionate about events, detail oriented, and motivated to learn more about marketing and sponsorship in the events industry, this internship is for you!
You will be researching event sponsors (working toward 2012) to assisting in onsite activation, distributing posters, coasters to participating in promotional events, this is an ideal position for someone looking to get their feet wet in the world of event sponsorship and promotion.

Position Description: Event Sponsorship Intern
The Event Sponsorship Intern will play a vital role and gain valuable experience with many aspects of event sponsorship. Primary tasks may include:

  • Event Sponsorship Research- Assist with researching event sponsors and maintaining an intricate database and cold calling.
  • Event Sponsorship Proposals- Write and tailor sponsorship proposals to potential sponsors and participate in informational meetings.
  • Administrative Office Assistance-Provide booth general office assistance and event specific assistance. Tasks include: assisting with mailings and copying; creating, updating, and managing databases; meeting weekly with Event Directors for task updates; running errands as needed; assisting in answering phones and relaying messages as needed.

Event Promotions

  • Distributing/hanging posters and distributing other promotional materials throughout Seattle to promote Bold Hat Production events
  • Promoting Kirkland Uncorked in the 4th of July Celebrate Kirkland parade
  • Participating in other promotional events as they arise
  • Assisting with event operations as assigned

Required Skills and Qualities:
Skills:

  • Resourcefulness to improvise and adapt to deal with daily adversity via creative problem solving.
  • Inherent ability to play well with others, make friends and influence people.
  • The strength to pull off events that require weeks of planning in a matter of days without a cape and phone booth.
  • Ability to land the cow for the price of the milk (strong negotiation skills).
  • Obtaining a self-starting, results-oriented mindset with the personality to know when to suck it up and stroke an ego or when to call it like it is (initiative and maturity).
  • Create buzz around Bold Hat’s events and desire to make Bold Hat to be the best event production company in the world.

Qualifications:

  • Education: pursuit of or have bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Related work experience: relevant experience in events, promotions, media.
  • Excel skills preferred
  • Access to transportation is a must.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good vision and hearing for helpful computer and telephone work. The office is not wheelchair accessible. The ability to lift twenty-five pounds is helpful.

Required Time Commitment:
Pay: $75 monthly transportation stipend
20 hours per week, November to March (Internship #1)
20 hours per week, March to June (Internship #2)
20 hours per week, June to October (Internship #3)
