The internship program with the Public Relations and Marketing department at Children’s National Medical Center is available for a current or recently graduated college student orgraduate student seeking experience in Marketing and Public Relations.

Internship responsibilities include:
Writing for various print and electronic publications Web writing and editing Event planning Market research/database management Document production Daily media monitoring Training on HTML email software in order to help draft media monitoring and Editor emails Development of media lists and occasional media pitching Listening in on or attending media interviews Draft monthly media reports Draft press releases and media advisories as needed All other duties as assigned

Candidates should:
Be self-motivated and highly organized Have excellent writing and communication skills Have excellent verbal communication skills Be familiar with AP Style Guide Have at least 10 hours/week to commit to the internship

Internships are offered to candidates for a three month period, or equal to the duration of one college or university semester.

The internship is part-time and unpaid and may be completed for credit. Both the hospital and the department’s off-site office in Silver Spring are metro accessible (Red Line).
