The NY Publicity Publicist executes entertainment publicity campaigns for a roster of FOX series and specials, as well as shares in radio outreach and communications on behalf of the entire Publicity department (NY and LA) with minimal supervision. The Publicist oversees or is involved in NY-based talent press trips, special events / premieres, stunts / promotions, photo shoots and press junkets with minimal supervision. The Publicist also shares in the oversight of the NY Publicity internship program (recruiting, interviewing, managing interns).

Requirements:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, team-building, problem-solving, management experience, decision-making and strategic planning skills
  • Must be able to implement comprehensive publicity campaigns for all types of TV series including scripted, unscripted, animation, single-camera and/or multi-camera series
  • On a day-to-day basis position pitches, books and coordinates print interviews, talk show appearances, photo shoots, set visits, affiliate satellite tours, radio press junkets, new media initiatives and other press-related functions
  • Must be able to oversee creative copy and design of launch kits, additional press kits, invitations and special episodic mailers. Also assist in the planning of show-specific parties, screenings, press conferences, TCA sessions and episodic milestone events
  • Must have strong writing skills to prepare show synopsis, talent biographies, releases, pitch letters, media alerts, episodic log lines, tip sheets and itineraries
  • Must be able to plan and execute New York and Los Angeles press tours and appearances, multi-city press tours and various major market affiliate events
  • Must be able to work well with different levels of management, as well as with talent, managers, producers, publicists, agents and studio executives
  • Must have strong relationships with press outlets (electronic, print, radio and new media, talk show bookers, etc.)
  • Must be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be a creative thinker who is willing to contribute and execute new ideas
