Internship Goal:
For intern to receive an overall snapshot and better understanding of the entire Golf Channel website business including exposure to product, content and technology departments. The goal is to gain a deeper appreciation of the professional business world, a greater knowledge of the sports and television industries and the demands and expectations of a 24/7 news and information website.Internship Learning Objectives and Expectations of Student: The intern is to observe and assist with research, preparation, creation and testing of content, along with providing general operational support when needed. Interns will develop and enhance strong organizational skills and attention to detail. They will learn how to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines. Focus areas includeProduct/Project Management:

  • Examples include:
  • Create and monitor live chats, social streams
  • Create and report on polls and surveys
  • Manage and monitor topics pages
  • Manage and approve forums topics
  • Load weekly fantasy game content and links
  • Assist Ad Operations with sponsor related tasksContent:
    Examples include:
  • Resize images
  • Create photo gallery creation
  • Fact checkingTechnology:
  • Examples include:
  • Research and update golfer and tournaments information
  • Monitor tournament scoring/player data to ensure availability and accuracy
  • Aid developers on scoring acquisition tasks
  • Perform site/app user acceptance testing and file bugs
Requirements:

  • Computer proficiency, applications including:
  • Internet savvy
  • Familiarity with web content management systems
  • Basic photo editing skills (Photoshop)
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of HTML a plus
