Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) owns and operates three professional sports teams: the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics. Monumental, which merged Lincoln Holdings and Washington Sports & Entertainment on June 10, 2010, also owns and operates Verizon Center, the premier sports and entertainment venue in Washington, D.C. Additionally, the group operates Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the Capitals’ state-of-the-art training facility in Arlington, Va., and George Mason University’s Patriot Center, located in Fairfax, Va.
MSE has a need for an intern in the Event, Booking & Entertainment Department. Internships are solely based on college credit only and are unpaid. This internship is located at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC; preferably working Monday-Friday; or will work with student schedules.
Responsibilities include:
Assist in composing and distributing monthly calendars
Maintain appearance and stock of kiosks at Verizon Center
Collecting, copying and filing advertising tear sheets on a regular basis
Organize event folders in previously established fashion
Assist in transferring event information into new information system
Provide on site assistance at select events and promotions
Assist in researching information for potential media events
Coordinate daily clippings
Assist in researching information for potential media events
Manage growth charts for social media
Assist in updating promotional materials as needed.
Assist in grassroots marketing efforts.
You will be asked to provide an academic letter on college letterhead stating you will be receiving college credit.
