SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN
Location: 8833 Gross Point Rd., Skokie, IL 60077
Position Overview:
The Social Media Intern is a paid part-time internship position with the responsibility to increase media presence and increasing brand visibility on social networks.
Critical Job Tasks
o Set up and manage accounts on popular social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
0 Assist with fan management, page and content moderation, and general outreach
0 Assist with developing social media strategy
o Collaborate with design and marketing team to produce landing pages, default graphics, and other elements
o Create and maintain a content editorial calendar
o Research and create articles, infographs and video content for posting
o Communicate company news such as webinars, promotions, etc.
o Disseminate relevant industry news through social media
o Conduct research to find and engage with social media communications and determine relevant trends
o Seed content to key influencers and other identified sites and blogs
o Monitor online conversations and events to make sure brands are participating effectively and are being well represented
o Assist with content development for blogs and other platforms
o Build and grow list of followers
o Track website statistics
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
o Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
Requirements:
o Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or above (Preferred majors in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or English)
o Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
o Ability to communicate and act on traffic opportunities on social media channels
o Creative and superior writing skills
o 1+ years of relevant experience
o Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
o Must pass background check
