Fayetteville Swampdogs – Radio Broadcaster/Media Relations Intern

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are seeking a talented, hard working, team player to fill the position of Radio Broadcaster/Media Relations Intern for the 2013 season. The SwampDogs are one of the premier organizations in the Coastal Plain League and the 2007 & 2011 Organization of the Year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing the play-by-play for all 28 regular season Coastal Plain League SwampDogs home games, along with any exhibition games. All games are web cast live via the Internet. The candidate will also host a bi-monthly, half-hour Television Show on a local Time Warner Cable Channel and coordinate with media outlets for all advertising opportunities.
This position is also responsible for the following:

  • Preparing game notes and stat packs for media, coaches and scouts at home games;
  • Preparing roster insert for scorecard at home games;
  • Writing and distributing all press releases to media contacts;
  • Coordinate with media representatives to ensure proper ad placement and content;
  • Maintenance of team-owned broadcasting equipment;
  • Maintaining the press box and other media accommodations at home games;
  • Overseeing all post game reports, including: game recap, box scores and press releases that are distributed to media outlets, Internet sites and the league office;
  • Other duties as assigned

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are a member of the Coastal Plain League, entering their 13th season in the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 57 alums – including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander – make their Major League debut thus far.
