Marketing Intern Description of Potential Duties

  • Assist in quality control process by proofing and reviewing graphic design work; web site content, graphics, and appearance; and checking other printed materials such as press releases, Student Announce (Pirate 411), This Week in Student Affairs, and R25 materials.
  • Identifying relevant CRW stories, developing materials, and writing copy for press releases, web site, newsletters, listserv messages, and articles.
  • Assist in development of questions, answers, and analysis of “check the pulse” surveys.
  • Work with CRW staff in the development, delivery, and promotion of a bi-monthly communication medium (newsletter, email, blog, etc.)
  • Assist in development, expansion, and implementation of the Secret Shopper program
  • Assist in development of presentation content, soliciting and coordination of presentations for student organizations, campus groups, departments, academic classes, and others as deemed appropriate.
  • Assist in the development of marketing and promotional campaigns for events and program areas
  • Conduct research on new marketing trends and mediums.  Solicit feedback from participants and non-participants through on-site informal interviews.
  • Photography of events and organization of photographs
  • Maintenance and continued development of the Facebook fan page, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Animoto, and other social media including appropriate utilization of site features to market upcoming events and services
  • Creating and updating event music playlists
  • Development, maintenance, and utilization of appropriate email listservs
  • Providing timely customer response and follow-up for emails through the campusrec email account
  • Coordinating or assisting in implementation of tabling/”street team” events
  • Solicitation of donations in support of Campus Recreation & Wellness programs
  • Assist in coordination of marketing events such as Intramural Championships, Open House, SRC Showcase, Special Events, etc.  Development of this concept would include initiating enhancements giveaways, national anthem, venue set-up, event programs, short promotion contests, Live Updates (Facebook and Twitter), and Real-Time Game Updates.
  • Assist in marketing area operations such as distribution of materials, electronic filing, inventory, office duties, Banner posting and rotation, etc.
