PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERNS Athens Regional Health System Athens, GA

The System Relations department of Athens Regional Health System is offering 2 or 3 highly motivated UGA students a dynamic internship experience in marketing, public relations and event planning.  Join our fun group of young professionals in System Relations for a semester of philanthropic events, writing, creative design, event planning, photography, etc.  There is no better field to get experience in than health care, and at the end of your internship you will have a portfolio full of your accomplishments.
 
ARHS provides its student interns an opportunity to participate in various activities within the department throughout the semester.  These activities will be designed to give the student a interesting and rewarding internship experience while also allowing the student to perform activities that best benefit the System Relations Department and the Athens Regional Health System.  The following are examples of the activities: (1) writing news releases and feature articles for the employee newsletter; (2) assisting with the design of newsletters, brochures and special publications; (3) taking photos of hospital and community events; (4) interacting with vendors, such as printers and typesetters; (5) conducting research, such as news media lists for specific mailings; (6) planning and coordinating the quarterly blood drive; (7) assisting with mass mailings, such as new releases and public service announcements; (8) creative art, such as poster making, flyers, etc.; (9) planning and coordinating the bi-monthly American Red Cross blood drives and other special events; and (10) clipping articles from area newspapers regarding hospital-related activities/events.
 
This is an unpaid internship. Schedules are flexible, but need to be maintained between a 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday parameter.  Occasional after-hours and weekend events may be required, usually not more than two or three per semester.
