Noodle is the first and only life-long education search company in the world. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive search resource to help anyone find educational opportunities at all levels, from K-12 to college, grad school, weekend classes, and professional development.

This is an apprenticeship that requires longer time commitment than summer internship. Apply only when you have serious career interest in communications and/or public relations. We are looking for our communications interns to start as soon as possible and work throughout the year.

Responsibilities:
Assisting with writing media pitches and e-mail outreach to spread the Noodle story and build brand awareness.

Researching, building and maintaining press / media contact lists. You’ll spend a lot of time researching writers, journalists, bloggers and media outlets.

Conducting outreach to media outlets, websites, bloggers and influencers in the education space via e-mail and phone.

Researching, building and maintaining press / media contact lists.

Compiling placements and media mentions into reports.

Supporting our Community Manager on all social media efforts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr.

Maintaining the Press archive of Noodle.org.

Keeping up to date on trends in education and education reform.

Assisting in some logistical work with scheduling press interviews and in-office meetings / events.

Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (you’ll spend a lot of time in email drafting pitches and on the phone reaching out to people)

Can commit at least 28 hours on-location per week during the internship.

A self-starter, enjoys a start-up environment.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Good time management skills – ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to collaborate as a team as well as to work independently.

Prior experience in communications / public relations is desirable but not required.

Authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation:
The hourly rate is between $15-$20/hour, depending on the level of skills and experience of the intern.
