Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Marketing Strategy & Operations Director, the Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the Department in executing marketing strategies that promote the organization’s brand. 
 
Education:       Candidates must be in their sophomore, junior or senior year (undergraduate programs) or a graduate student; pursuing a degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Liberal Arts. 
 
Experience:     Must have proven success from school or work experience of strong leadership by envisioning, direction setting.
 
Skills: Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills as well as demonstrate proper telephone etiquette.  Intermediate Microsoft Word and Outlook skills are necessary. 
 
Candidate must possess excellent reasoning and problem-solving abilities.  Demonstrate ability to interact and communicate (both verbal and written) with the public.  Physical requirements include: sight; sitting for at least four hours per day; stooping; grasping/motor dexterity skills.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
•           Conduct market research.
•           Assist in creating and implementing marketing campaigns.
•           Support content development for resources to Clubs, e-newsletter, social network sites and website maintenance.
•           Assist with event planning.
•           Provide database management.
•           Serve as point of contact support to Clubs regarding special initiatives via telephone and/or email, to answer questions, and manage inquiries.
•           Answer a moderate volume of calls and maintain a rapid response rate.
•           Provide, as needed, administrative support.
•           Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in BGCA’s Employee Handbook, Ethics Policy and elsewhere.
 
Time Commitment: 15 to 30 hours per week from August 19 – November 15, 2013. There is some flexibility in arranging the schedule, both in hours worked and length of internship. 
 
The BGCA internship program is non-compensated and provides an enriching learning opportunity. Externship credit is available (based on school compliance).
