Youth Development Public Relations Intern – D.C. United (Washington, DC)

The D.C. United Youth Development PR Intern will assist with all aspects of the department’s activities and responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Handle Academy update releases and other media collaterals
  • Pitch and service media interviews with Academy/Pre-Academy coaches and players
  • Create and manage United site and platform coverage
  • Create and monitor Youth Development social channels (e.g. Twitter, Instagram)
  • Attend weekly training sessions and camps, as needed
  • Attend home games and travel periodically with youth teams

    The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as basic knowledge of managing website content and digital platforms. Evaluation of candidates is based on two primary elements: writing ability and knowledge of soccer and MLS. Those with strong knowledge of soccer are encouraged to apply.

  • Internships are unpaid
  • Full-time internship preferred. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.
  • Weekend work and some travel may occur
  • Spanish proficiency is a bonus, but not required
