Internship
In an internship at Discovery Communications you’ll be exposed to all areas of the business through a solid foundation of learning through training and work experience. For the spring 2014, Discovery’s Campus Connect program will run for a 10 week session during the following dates:
February 3, 2014 – April 11, 2014
This is a PAID internship – College credit is no longer required, however, we do require that interns be enrolled in a university.
Interviewing will take place from the end of October through December. A Campus Connect team member will contact you should your experiences and interests match an open internship position.

If you answered “yes” to any of the above, a digital media internship at Discovery Communications is for you! We’re looking for hardworking people with an interest in digital media to play key roles helping our various digital media teams across our networks.
Responsibilities:
As a digital media intern, some of the things you can expect include:
– Identify, capture and distribute video clips and still frame assets from a large number of Discovery networks’ programs, in order to merchandise series and episodes on streaming media platforms
– Prepare best practices reports, detailing compelling program merchandising approaches adopted by other content providers on services such as Netflix, Amazon and Hulu
– Gain exposure to and assist in production of Discovery’s DVD and Download-to-Own businesses
– Working with Interactive Producers to learn about online campaigns, production schedules, confirmation of specs, media plans, and performing QA process of Banner units
– Some roles will focus on the development of new apps and market research
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a degree
- Must be an undergraduate Junior/Senior or a graduate student
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
- Must be able to work in the U.S.
- Familiarity with Photoshop, QuickTime, and/or Final Cut Pro is preferred
