Is the professional sports & entertainment industry in your future career path? Here’s your chance to experience it first hand while interning at a dynamic organization. The Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and world-class entertainment venue, Philips Arena, are looking for passionate team players to participate in our Summer 2014 Course Credit Internship Program. This program is designed to give top students real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry in addition to providing educational and networking opportunities. Educational components include interactive workshops, executive speaker series and job shadow opportunities.
PROGRAM GUIDELINES:
• We are now accepting applications for the Summer 2014 term (May-August)
• Course Credit Internships are open to college students only (junior, senior or graduate level)
• Interns must receive academic credit toward graduation – no exceptions (students are responsible for providing documentation confirming academic credit for the internship and verifying that their school offers credit for internships PRIOR to applying)
• No financial compensation is available
• Interns are responsible for travel and housing arrangements (please research housing costs PRIOR to applying)
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
• Minimum of 12 weeks participation is required
• Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (minimum of 20 hours per week required for part-time)
• Interns must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7

Responsibilities and Duties:
Execute the fulfillment of our Atlanta Hawks 3.0 Student Club
Assist with back-end execution of PA Insider – our corporate ticket program that serves over 1000 companies
Participate in the planning and execution of various next season game day events
Assist Account Executives at sales events with prospecting for new business and overall sales
Develop group theme nights for upcoming season
Research trends around the NBA and other professional sports leagues
Various research projects and database compilations to find innovative ways to increase sales revenue
Assist with the management and growth of the group sales customer
Assist sales staff with clerical duties and direct mail
