SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
NFL Summer Internship Program participants have the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success while receiving an unmatched, behind-the-scenes learning experience. Though interns work within specific departments, they are able to explore all aspects of the business of professional football through speaker presentations, mentoring relationships and networking opportunities.
Program Details:
Selected applicants are placed within the NFL based on interest, experience, academic coursework, and the NFL’s business needs. Past assignments at the League Office have included the following departments: Communications & Public Affairs, Human Resources, Information Technology, Internal Audit, Labor & Legal, and Media.
The summer program runs from Monday, June 9th through Friday, August 8th. Please note that some departments require their interns to work past the August 8th end date. If so, this will be communicated to the applicant during the interview process.
The program will require interns to work 5 full days (approximately 40 hours) per week. Interns will receive a weekly stipend.
SELECTION DETAILS:
 -All prospective interns must be currently enrolled undergraduates entering their senior year in the fall of 2014. Prospective legal interns must be law students currently enrolled at and returning to school in the fall of 2014.
 -First consideration will be given to undergraduate students with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and law students in the top half of their class.
 -Students must be within the United States at the time of the interview process, which will begin in early February 2014. Selection decisions typically are made by the end of March. Please note that these are projected timelines and are subject to change.
 -Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States and international students must have all visas and employment authorizations prior to the start of the internship. Completion of this application assumes eligibility to work in the United States.
 -Academic transcripts (official or unofficial) will be requested.
 -A completed application constitutes the completion and submission of all relevant fields in the profile, including the program specific questions and résumé. Digital Media Business Development / Partnership Marketing / Domestic Affiliate Sales
The NFL’s Digital Media group leads the development and implementation of new media businesses and distribution opportunities for NFL content. We are hiring a Summer Intern to play a key role in ensuring the success of NFL’s initiatives in this fast-paced market. Job responsibilities will be varied and flexible based on business needs and will include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinate and attend daily/weekly status meetings.
• Document project status and distribute information to the team.
• Collect product/project performance metrics and analyze results.
• Support the digital media team on projects in preparation for the 2014 football season.
• Provide support for the creation of presentations, memos, and other reports for the team and senior management.
• Assist Director of Partnership Marketing in 2014 NFL Media Planning (Institutional/partner calendar scheduling & valuation analysis)
• Prepare qualitative and quantitative industry analysis including competitor reviews, identification of trends and benchmarking.
• Provide Video On Demand support from a technical, programming & content management perspective.
• Assist in upholding the NFL Blackout policy for all preseason live games on NFL Network.
• Manage NFL Network Affiliate websites.
• Provide support for the 2014 NFL Network Over the Air bid process for TNF games in all local markets
• Experience in Word, PowerPoint, Excel required
International Media / Media Strategy
The NFL’s International Media focuses on international media strategy & business development for the NFL, including the distribution of league owned & operated media assets as well as licensed rights across all media platforms. We are hiring a Summer Intern to play a key role in ensuring the success of NFL’s initiatives in this fast-paced market. Job responsibilities will be varied and flexible based on business needs and will include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinate, participate in and attend daily/weekly status meetings.
• Document project status and distribute information to the team.
• Perform market research in international and other emerging markets
• Collect product/project performance metrics and analyze results.
• Support the International Media team on projects in preparation for the 2014 football season.
• Provide support for the creation of presentations, memos, and other reports for the team and senior management.
• Prepare qualitative and quantitative industry analysis including competitor reviews, identification of trends and benchmarking.
• Interest in international business and new markets is a plus
• Experience in Word, PowerPoint, Excel required
