The editorial staff at New South Publishing is seeking editorial interns to work in
our Atlanta office.
Positions are ongoing and available immediately. Recent graduates, as well as juniors and seniors currently enrolled in a journalism program, are welcome to apply. Candidates must be able to work in our Atlanta-­‐area office. Editorial internship positions are unpaid but offer real career experience and the opportunity to work with several publications from edit planning to printing.
Duties Include:
•    Fact-­‐checking
•    Copyediting and proofing
•    Writing news blurbs and short columns (the opportunity to write features is available for the right candidates)
•    Gathering photos and artwork for articles, as needed
•    Updating social media outlets, such as blogs, Facebook and Twitter
•    Some light administrative work
Desired Qualifications:
•    Must be a junior or senior currently enrolled in a journalism program, or a recent college graduate with a journalism degree
•    Firm grasp of AP Style
•    Keen eye for detail when copyediting and proofing
•    Strong interviewing skills, both over the phone and in person
•    The ability to write concise, engaging copy for a variety of audiences
•    Impeccable grammar
•    Professional demeanor in person, on the phone and in email correspondence
