Job Description:
PURPOSE OF POSITION
·          School Credit Internship – No compensation
·          To create and establish a database of catalogs and literature that focuses on the company’s products and marketed items
·          To enhance and redesign existing product literature both graphically and contextually
·          To utilize and display graphic design skills and knowledge acquired from intern’s university
·          To gain corporate experience which enhances intern’s educational background
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
·          Must be proficient in Adobe Suite Software
·          Creating product focused literature for sales department and staff
·          Editing, revising and enhancing existing literature and catalogs to achieve a modern and current image
·          Designing a template for future product literature pieces
·          Identifying brand standards and applying them to new literature and other promotional pieces
·          Create and modify fonts according to brand guides
·          Create promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures
·          Awareness of printing techniques, types of paper or canvas (weight, size, etc.) and display options, cutting and finalizing prints
·          Awareness of current fashions in the visual arts, working knowledge of the latest computer packages and an understanding of material costs and time limits, all of which can impact on the design
·          Perform research on competitors and market trends to develop comparable and competitive product literature
·          Establish, organize and maintain database where all generic advertisements, product images and other generic corporate documents may be stored
·          Photography, if applicable, of products and promotional material to enhance photo database
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
·          Educational Requirement; and/or educational preference: 
·          High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred
·          Must be proficient in Adobe Suite software
·          Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office. 
·          Must be able to read and write English.

·          Be able to make graphic design decisions relating to advertising and literature
·          Manage time wisely to meet deadlines
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS
·          Must be able to lift up to approximately 5 pounds.
·          Must be able to work in an office environment.
·          Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
·          Must be able communicate on the telephone for lengthy periods.
·          Must be able to operate a computer and keyboard with accuracy and efficiency.
·          Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
