Spectrum Internship Program

is a competitive internship program that provides eligible interns with exposure to the operations of a major entertainment studio. During the internship, interns will gain insight into the inner workings of the business and industry dynamics. In addition, interns will work on project-based assignments for the sponsoring department and participate in development events that will enhance their overall internship experience. We are seeking undergraduate, graduate, and JD students interested in a position within this exciting, comprehensive program.

The Global Talent department identifies, recruits and evaluates all levels of talent for the organization. In addition, the team is responsible for the strategic direction, design, and day-to-day management of global recruitment. These efforts contribute to an environment that is inclusive of all groups, maximizes the potential of our employees and values the variety of perspectives they bring to the workplace.

The intern will be exposed to variety of projects and responsibilities that will allow them to gain a better understanding of the full-cycle recruitment process. The intern will work primarily with the Spectrum Internship Program team with responsibilities that will include, but are not limited to:

  • Work alongside the Spectrum Internship Program team to:

o Review Sponsor Proposals

o Create database to keep track of proposals throughout the selection process

o Sit in on interviews

o Responsible for the upkeep of weekly information on Spectrum intern LinkedIn group page

o

The intern will provide administrative support to the day to day managements of the internship program as well as ad hoc/project work for the Recruitment team at large on an as-needed basis.

These responsibilities include:
Create database to keep track of proposals throughout the selection process

Review and screen resumes for specific skill set/experience as required for each respective sponsor

Scheduling and facilitating interviews for hiring teams, recruiters and candidates

Preparing tailored behavior-based interview guides, presentations and recruiting reports as needed

Utilize ATS to support recruitment including job posting, form distribution, candidate tracking, etc.

Correspond and complete reference checks for all potential hires

Research and benchmark college recruiting best-practices

Partner with P&O Coordinators to support new employee on-boarding (MIIS ID requests, NHO and PUDH scheduling)

Manage Job Files, P-Files and candidate tracking records

Interns will have the opportunity to develop:
Understanding the principal functions of this department and key factors that contribute to departmental success. These factors include an understanding of the corporate structure, departmental functions across all areas of the studio, the executive employee roster, how to identify core hiring competencies, effective communication skills, and the importance of inclusion to SPE’s business strategy.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
The Spectrum Internship Program’s Summer program is a paid opportunity that is 8 weeks long (40 hours/week) starting late June and ending in mid-August. Due to the limited duration of our internship program, interns must be available for the full 8 weeks.

Desired Skills:
An intern that is interested in the field of Human Resources will benefit the most from this internship experience as they will be immersed in concepts and practices of Human Resources. In addition, applicants should be familiar with the following programs and ideally possess these key skills:

  • • Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively handle and manage highly confidential information
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks to meet or exceed deadlines despite frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work independently with little direction, while escalating issues and raising questions as appropriate with superior work ethic, accountability and ownership of work
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with dates, times, names, context with quick comprehension of issues
  • Tenacious, resourceful and proactive problem solver with the ability to apply learning to future situations
  • Excellent professionalism, poise and positive attitude in representing the SPE employment brand and the Global Recruitment & Inclusion team
  • Strong communication skills including oral and written correspondence
  • Proven team player that promotes collaboration and customer focus
