Segment Overview:
Since its opening in 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL has grown to feature four theme parks – the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot Disney’s Hollywood Studios , and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. In addition, more than 20 themed resort hotels, two water parks, and the Downtown Disney Area, a daytime and nighttime entertainment complex, are part of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons is a leader and authoritative voice in the destination weddings and honeymoons industry and a pioneer in the life-stage market. The brand’s mission is to service the inner princess globally by delivering exceptional service at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, aboard Disney Cruise Line and at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa. The Marketing Strategy team is responsible for driving awareness, lead generation and bookings for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons worldwide.

Responsibilities
The Marketing Strategy team serves as the steward of the Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons brand and the champion of the consumer. Through insightful, consumer-centric strategies, Marketing drives first-time brides, vow renewal couples and honeymooners to top destinations around the globe. As a fully integrated member of the team, the intern would manage programs at every stage of the consumer pathway from awareness and consideration to conversion, social media and post-wedding honeymoon message tactics. In partnership with a host of discipline teams, the intern would also help to create and execute communication plans to drive desired behaviors. Furthermore, the entire team is expected to know and action against business analytics, consumer and industry trends, competitive data and research to create both short-term and long-term plans to stimulate demand and growth.

Basic Qualifications
These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position:

Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Demonstrated knowledge of social media and proven strong written communication skills

Demonstrated marketing/communication experience (basic skills required; strong skills preferred)

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Proven self-starter and ability to balance multiple priorities with minimal direction

Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment

Ability to handle confidential information and manage conflict to positive resolution

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

Disney College Program Alumni

Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat

Previous internships or extracurricular activities, including membership in AMA, PRSSA, or other organizations

Required Education

Senior or Graduate level student pursuing a degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or related major OR have graduated within 6 months of the start date of the internship

Internship Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a U.S. college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship for which you are applying for OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. Note: Once you have completed one consecutive year of employment on a Disney internship or program, there must be a minimum 6 month gap before the start of a new internship or program

Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Must provide full work availability

Must provide own transportation to/from work

Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2014 through January 2015. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Housing:
A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
