Seeking energetic interns to fulfill 1 of 3 positions for a local high school sports show. Candidate must have knowledge of sports, a desire to learn how to cover sporting events This person must have good organizational skills and know how to meet deadlines. This position requires a firm understanding of technology and how to utilize trending social media to promote and reach the demographic target for said sportscast. Duties include, but are not limited to videography, interviewing, writing, editing, web management, marketing and on air talent. Internships will be for credit.
Internship Openings:
Producer: Candidate will develop skills in how a sportscast is developed. This person will assist in the sports scheduling, the look of the sportscast, develop or enhance new segments and help in the overall production of the broadcast. This individual will learn basic editing and writing skills as it pertains to the production and posting of sportscast. Producer intern must be available to work Mondays.
Videographer/Reporter: This intern will be assigned a territory to cover local sporting events. Equipment will be provided. The intern will learn editing software, be equipped to update website through a content manager, as well as, manage content submitted through our App. This candidate will also learn how to ask questions, report, and put together featured stories to be included in broadcast.
Social Media/Web Coordinator/Promotions: This intern will be in charge of the marketing aspect of the show. Taking content and posting to social media outlets in order to boost our reach and increase viewership. Intern will learn how to create interest, what areas of the show tend to go viral and how to drive viewers to the product. Because of the show’s unique footprint, this position will become the most competitive of the three internships. LCA’s newest sports program is using cutting edge technology and providing a service to viewers that has never been done on a local level. With that being said, this position could be a great resume builder for future employment in this industry.
