As a Communications Intern, you will work as a member of our Corporate Communications team, supporting a range of projects spanning employee and electronic communications programs. The environment is dynamic, but supportive, with an emphasis on developing your communication skills and giving you real-world experience. You’ll work up to 21 hours per week, based on your academic schedule.
Prmary responsibilities include:
• Write news stories that will appear on company’s global intranet.
• Conduct research of trends to gather data that will assist with employee presentations
• Provide organization and logistics supports for company meetings
• Support the development and dissemination of letters from business leaders and other critical communications to employees and other parties
• Monitor company internet email box and disseminate requests and inquiries to appropriate internal parties
• Help team members post and manage content on the company’s intranet portal.
• Assist other members of the communications team, including the media relations, social media and government relations teams to assist with projects

Education Type: Communications or Marketing preferred
Key Competencies and Success Factors:
• Strong work organization skills are required, with capability to work in a corporate, matrix structured team environment, with ability to interact/interview business leaders.
• Must have positive work attitude and be able to focus on supporting and completing assigned projects and meeting deliverables.
• Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have some experience and/or training in creating and developing written content for use on the Internet or a strong desire to learn about online publishing.
• Computer proficiency is using MS Word and PowerPoint is required. Some familiarity with Excel, as well as image editing software is preferred.
• Successful candidate will have completed at least four full semesters in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
