Position: Communication Intern

Summary:
Ironwood Golf and Country Club is looking to engage an intern with strong knowledge and understanding of Communication including the digital media landscape and various social media websites. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging current and prospective members through electronic and social media as well as membership drive activities. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills and must be a highly motivated self-starter. Those looking to gain valuable communication experience with one of eastern North Carolina’s premier country clubs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Refresh and redesign Ironwood Golf and Country Club website
- Establish, monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks
- Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more
- Website and social media optimization
- Keyword analysis as well as research.
- Cost/benefit analysis of various forms of outreach
- Measure and report on impact of social media
- Various types of communicating such as the use of phone, email, mail and face to face.
- Take part in new member activities such as presentations, tours and events.
Requirements:
Students applying for this internship should be Communications, Marketing or Business majors with at least 2 years of college training and a solid working knowledge of social media optimization. Prior experience in a similar role is desirable.
