Paramount Pictures is currently seeking a summer 2016 intern for our National Publicity department. This internship will give a qualified candidate the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the process behind launching and maintaining publicity film campaigns. This is a paid internship, NO CREDIT IS OFFERED.

The responsibilities of our interns include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in brainstorming ideas for press and public outreach in our film campaigns
  • Building and updating press contacts to work with on film coverage and special events
  • Research projects on prior film campaigns, talent press history or specific press contacts/outlets
  • Assist with daily ‘breaks’ when needed (newspaper, magazine, and online press clippings)
  • General administrative duties: copies, mailings, phones, etc
  • Help with special events (press junkets, premieres, special screenings)
  • Updating important office documents
  • Semester-long ‘intern project’ which consists of choosing an upcoming Paramount release and creating a mini National Publicity campaign via PowerPoint (or Prezi, etc.) to present to the NY team.

 

Qualifications:

Paramount Pictures interns are expected to be enthusiastic, eager, and willing to help and assist with any task. We are looking for a student who is responsible, punctual, and possesses good communication and professional skills. Candidates that hold a passion for film and publicity are preferred in addition to communication, marketing, broadcast, and film majors. However, we are open to anyone who is willing to learn and is excited to work with us.

 

  • Prior internship experience preferred in the film industry and/or publicity related
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook and other office applications
  • Proficient at internet research
  • Hard working, motivated, friendly, and enthusiastic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self starter and detail oriented who thinks ‘out of the box’
  • Multitask

  • Should be resourceful, highly organized and detail oriented
  • Should be able to work independently on a variety of projects while operating under inflexible deadlines
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with staff, internal and external contacts and senior management
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects
  • Self-motivated individual with solid analytic skills and an ability to work in a group environment to achieve result

 

Requirements:

  • Must be able to commit to 20 hours a week, with possible nights and weekends
  • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered

  • Must be able to show eligibility to work in the United States
  • MUST be ENROLLED in a Bachelors or Masters Degree program at an accredited institution
  • Must be at a minimum a 3rd or 4th year standing student
