Event Services and Merchandising Intern

To provide support to the Event Services Department including all food, beverage, merchandise and non-baseball event sales and operations for the Club as well as providing administrative support to the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
v Assist all merchandising operations for Club, including coordinating all merchandise selections. Coordinate merchandise and cooperative marketing programs available to Club through MLB
v Coordinate merchandise deliveries and shipping/receiving
v Assistance in coordinating special projects, including the design for such projects and the administrative needs for each project
v Coordinate audits of food service and merchandising during all games, including but not limited to menu offerings, wait times, lines, crowd flow, merchandise selection and food quality
v Maintain open communication and a strong partnership between the Cincinnati Reds and Delaware North Companies
v Perform related duties as assigned
v Provide administrative support including organizing, customer support, and filing to the department
Knowledge and Skills Required:
v Knowledge of food service and hospitality industry
v Knowledge of retail practices and principals
v Comprehension of food and beverage capabilities including menu selection and budgeting
v Working knowledge of selling and coordinating events
v Deal with a diverse group of important internal and external partners
v Excellent people and communication skills
v Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
v Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload
v Work requires an excellent command of the English language
v Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications
v Work requires continual attention to detail, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
v A high degree of confidentiality and accountability is also required.
Experience, Education and Licensure :
v Bachelor’s degree is required
v Must have experience in sales, marketing or hospitality related field
Work Environment:
v Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment however employee may have “game-day” responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
v Hours will include nights, weekends and holidays. Position requires department attendance at 75% of the games as well as other stadium events in addition to time spent in office daily managing operations.

v This is a seasonal, internship opportunity and no benefits will be provided.
v Paid internships with the opportunity to earn college credit are available.
v Paid interns are paid a minimum wage of $7.95/hour.
