Role Description
Green Global Travel is an ecotourism, nature/wildlife conservation & cultural preservation website focused on inspiring people to travel more responsibility, consciously and sustainably.
Green Global Travel has been highlighted numerous times by National Geographic’s Intelligent Travel and has also been featured by BBC News, the Chicago Tribune, The Guardian, Huffington Post, NPR and Today.
The Communication Internship involves:
1. Alerting organizations that they have been featured on the site via Email and Twitter.
2. Use company Pinterest account to share articles and spread brand awareness.
3. Manage company Twitter account to share articles and spread brand awareness.
4. Expanding and linking existing content.
Reporting and keeping progress notes is very important. The intern is responsible for keeping up weekly communication through Facetime, Skype or email.
This internship runs all year. The minimum requirement is 6 months with preference given to applicants who can work longer. The internship is very flexible and many students are able to balance it with other jobs or commitments.
We are looking for someone very organized, proactive, self-motivated, responsible, professional, and very communicative. The applicant must be comfortable with Gmail, Twitter, Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Word, and writing emails. Experience with WordPress is a huge plus, but not required..
This is a virtual internship and can be done from anywhere. Since Green Global Travel does not make a profit, this is an unpaid internship.
In order to better prepare interns for the job market, we try to customize the internship for a person’s future goals. Green Global Travel interns have gone on to become the Managing Editor of Forbes Travel, PR reps for Chateau Elan and Edelman, Content Strategist for Facebook, and other substantial careers.
