INTERNING WITH GMoA

Thank you for your interest in an internship at the Greenville Museum of Art (GMoA)! We offer a variety of internship opportunities that can be tailored to your needs and interests. The GMoA’s internship program seeks to provide students with real-world experience in a non-profit museum. There are three internship opportunities that you can choose from: Communications and Event Planning, Collections and Curation, and Administration. Every internship will range from 100-120 hours per semester and will culminate into a final project. Currently, all internship opportunities are fully in-person. Every intern will have a direct supervisor but may collaborate with other staff members as needed.

To qualify for an internship at the GMoA students must have completed at least their first year of college and have a 2.8 out of a 4.0 GPA. All internships at the GMoA are unpaid and all applicants must be willing to volunteer a minimum of 100 contact hours.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Please gather the following documents to be submitted with your internship application. If all the documents are not submitted your application will be considered incomplete. Applications are not available yet however we will announce once they are live on our site. Please indicate first choice and second choice options, if you only want to be considered for one opportunity, please indicate so on your application.

  • Statement of Intent – explain in 500 words or less why you would like to complete an internship at the GMoA. Include your career goals and why this internship will help you achieve them.
  • Unofficial Transcript – please do not mail an official transcript.
  • Up to date resume.
  • A credit hours form and university sponsor contact information if completing for credit.
  • Two references (professional or personal, i.e., professor, mentor, coworker).
