World Environmental Health Day (WEHD) is virtually being celebrated at East Carolina University for the 9th year on September 26, 2024 by the ECU Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) Program, along with the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) and the rest of the world. The theme for this year is “Environmental Health: Creating Resilient Communities through Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation”.
Electronic displays in the ECU Carol Belk Building were dedicated today on promoting environmental health as an important field in protecting public health. Printed posters related to environmental health were also displayed in the 1st floor lobby and corridors of Carol Belk Building. Live mosquitoes, as well as collected dead ones in a petri dish, were also displayed for viewing.
In addition, different types of Environmental Health (EH) posters are featured this week. Below are research posters of EH faculty and students, class posters of students as course projects, professional paper posters, and infographic posters from governmental agencies and professional organizations.
