The mission of Fighters for Freedom Hill is not only to preserve the history of the oldest black town charted by freed slaves in America. It is also to ensure future political and economical opportunities and success through education, legislation, and community involvement to meet the various needs of the citizens of Princeville, NC. Part of our mission includes, working with town officials to assist in efforts to enhance the community.
The vision of Fighters for Freedom Hill is to aid in the economic development and overall advancement of the town and its citizens. As we continue to progress and channel the spirit of our ancestors our vision will continue to expand and evolve with the community’s needs.
Here are few things we hope to accomplish through our connected efforts:
- Lay out a strategic plan to present to local officials for creating jobs and provide recreation opportunities for youth.
- Recruit minority owned businesses to help solidify economic growth.
- Connect residents to resources for job training and continuing adult education. Along with providing financial literacy.
- Assist with educating citizens about the history of the town. Along with assisting town in becoming historically registered.
