2017 Spring – Revit

This Spring for the first time the students were introduced to Revit software in this class.  The assignment was to recreate their floorplan and upper level RCP in Revit, along with two interior perspectives, one of which is rendered.

2017 Spring – SketchUp/Photoshop

As always, the students used SketchUp software to model their designs in 3D, and Photoshop to add rendering effects to views of their model.

2017 Spring – AutoCAD

As we do each year, the sophomore class has completed a design charrette of a double-height reception space, and then drafted an abbreviated set of construction drawings for the space.  Below are some of the best drawing sets from the class.

2016 – SketchUp/Photoshop

As they do each year, the sophomores have taken their reception area design from AutoCAD into SketchUp to explore varied 3D views of the space.  After adding materials in SketchUp, they then exported some of their scenes to Photoshop to add exterior context, figures, and lighting.  Students also rendered a furniture and reflected ceiling plan in Photoshop.  And finally, the students captured a video walkthrough of their SketchUp model.

2015 – SketchUp/Photoshop

The students took their floorplans into SketchUp to bring them into 3D, and then added rendering touches in Photoshop.

2014 – AutoCAD

For the final series of assignments this semester, the students created an abbreviated set of construction drawings for the space that they had designed.  The sets shown here were selected as being the most complete and accurate of those submitted.  Each link will take you to a slideshow of the student’s drawing set.  (Please note that some images may be missing on the Cover Sheet, due to unresolved reference locations.)
