This is the latest about the ERHD program. Stay tuned for more new developments coming in 2012!

Welcome All ERHD Students – The ERHD Program begins August 24, 2010

It is my distinct pleasure to welcome all Ethnic & Rural Health Disparities (ERHD) students to our brand new graduate certificate online program! It has been somewhat of a long-time coming yet now we are here together to start this new public health and medical training initiaitive.

The first course in the ERHD program is: GLOBAL PUBLIC HEALTH: MPH 6007.

Global Public Health explores the issues related to the fields of medical anthropology and public health leading toward developing global health interventions. The three major course objectives are:
1. Identify and assess the major components of medical anthropology and public health as they relate to global public health issues.
2. Identify and discuss the major global public health concerns of specific populations from one country to another.
3. Apply principles and strategies derived from medical anthropology and public health toward planning, implementing and evaluating global public health intervention programs.

Our unique approach in using podcast/webcast lectures along with specific assignments through the discussion board and chatroom sessions will enable you to complete an outstanding culturally competent global public health fieldwork project/proposal by the end of the course.

Co-Director Dr. Justin Moore and I are delighted that you have been the first to be selected to be apart of our program and we look forward to many more interested public health and medical professionals to participate in our program whether as full-time or part-time students. By the end of the entire set of courses (12 credit hours), every student will have a new set of public health skill sets that will separate you from the rest in your fields of expertise.

Again, WELCOME TO OUR ERHD GRADUATE CERTIFICATE ONLINE PROGRAM AND NOW IT’S TIME TO GET STARTED!
