Faculty with signed contracts (!)

Greetings, CAHS!

This information is for any of our departments that will have incoming new faculty.  If a faculty member has signed a contract already with ECU and they need access to Canvas they can submit a ticket to Canvas Support to have access as an unpaid affiliate. Then when their actual contract starts, their access will change to the standard faculty access.

This is the link to submit the request.

Information Technology and Computing Services June 20, 2022 Apple now offering users the ability to do limited repairs on specific devices

adobe self service repair

Self Service Repair offer currently for iPhone 12, 13 and iPhone SE (3rd generation), to expand to Mac computers with Apple silicon in fall From Apple Support: “Self Service Repair is intended for individuals with the knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices. If you are experienced with the complexities of repairing electronic devices, Self Service Repair provides you with access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and repair manuals to perform your own out-of-warranty repair.” Where to start? STEP 1. Start by reading through the repair manual for your specific Apple device. To purchase genuine parts and tools, you will need the repair manual ID found in the manual’s introduction. Find the specific repair manual you need. If you’re repairing your iPhone 13 Pro for example: “enter the manual ID RENLTC to indicate that you’ve read the manual in its entirety and agree that you have the knowledge and experience to perform your intended repair.” NOTE: If you need help repairing your device, ITCS is happy to assist! Keep in mind the repair will still be considered an out-of-warranty repair. ITCS staff will offer the standard out-of-warranty service and order new out-of-warranty parts for you; ITCS is unable to use any parts brought in. The Self Service Repair out-of-warranty offer only impacts the coverage for the specific part(s) the user replaces. All other parts not replaced through Self Service Repair will continue to have the original device coverage. Submit a Computer Support Request Ticket for help repairing your device. STEP 2. If you’re repairing the device yourself, you can order the parts and tools you need for your Apple product repair through the online store. Tool kits are available for RENT for each Apple device model you’d like to repair. The online Self Service Repair Store is operated by a third-party provider authorized by Apple to sell genuine Apple parts and tools. Find the serial number of your Apple device. The serial number or IMEI is required for genuine Apple part purchases. After ordering any parts or tools, you can check the status of your order from the Self Service Repair Store. Apple won’t have information about your order. STEP 3. Once you receive the part(s) and/or tools you ordered, carefully follow the repair instructions in the manual for your specific device. A System Configuration step may be required at the end of your repair. System Configuration is a post repair software tool that completes the repair for genuine Apple parts. The repair manual will indicate if System Configuration is required. You will need to contact the Self Service Repair Store support team by chat or phone to initiate System Configuration. STEP 4. Return the replaced parts for recycling so that they can be refurbished or recycled. For certain repair types, you may receive credit when you return a replaced part from your Apple device. Visit the Self Service Repair Store for more information on replaced part return instructions.
